Bursary Fund

All students who are in financial need may apply for help from this fund. Apply via Student Services D507 (studentservices@henleycol.ac.uk).

Important information for returning (year 2) students: If you are returning to The Henley College for a second year of study and have applied for financial assistance towards the college coach please complete the college coach renewal application form and wait for a member of the Student Services team to contact you. Completed bursary fund application forms with relevant photocopied documents must reach Student Services no later than Tuesday 4 September. 

16-19 BURSARY FUND 2018-19

The College has a Bursary Fund to which students may apply if they have difficulties completing their courses because of financial considerations. 

COLLEGE 16–19 DISCRETIONARY BURSARY FUND CRITERIA

The College 16-19 Discretionary Bursary Fund 2018-19. Enrolled students may apply for financial assistance for help with the cost of transport. The following guidelines apply:

FREE SCHOOL MEALS

Were you entitled to Free School Meals? If so, you may be entitled to Free Meals whilst studying at college.
 
Students aged 16-18 at the start of their course (or aged 19-25 with an EHCP) and live in a household in receipt of the benefits listed below. A cashless system will be operating and your canteen account will be credited. Free College Meal application forms are available to download below. 

To apply you must provide a photocopy of one of the following documents with the application; without these documents your application will not be considered.

16-19 GUARANTEED BURSARY 2018-19

The 16-19 Guaranteed Bursary Fund is a £1200 grant for students who may have difficulties in completing their course because of financial considerations.

To be eligible for financial assistance from the 16-19 Guaranteed Bursary Fund you must be an enrolled student as defined by the College. 

Guaranteed bursaries will be awarded provided you meet one of the following criteria:

SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL NEEDS (SEN) AND EDUCATION HEALTH AND CARE PLAN STUDENTS (EHCP) STUDENTS

Students should apply for transport assistance through their local county council, please send copies of the official letters to Student Services so we can help assist with transport for the 2018-19 academic year. Please see our Transport page for more information on college-run coaches and public transport. 

Buckinghamshire County Council provide a 16+ Free Travel Scheme for students who have a statutory statement of Special Educational Needs (SEN) or an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) and who meet the eligibility criteria for the scheme and are aged between 16 and 18 on 1st September for transport on College coaches (and bus services where there is no coach provision) - see www.buckscc.gov.uk/education/schools/school-transport/transport-for-16-19-year-olds/ for details of eligibility for this scheme and how to apply. Financial assistance may be available from The Henley College Bursary Fund for students who are not eligible for the Scheme.

STUDENTS AGED 19 AND OVER AT THE START OF THEIR COURSE
