An Apprenticeship in Playwork will equip apprentices with the skills for different types of settings including after school and holiday clubs. The course covers a variety of areas including planning and supporting play, playwork provision, legal responsibilities and reflective practice. Apprentices will be provided with in-depth information about the role of the playworker when working with children and young people between the ages of 4 to 16.
The Level 2 will take approximately 12 months to complete. To complete the Apprenticeship, apprentices spend one day a month at College and have regular work-based assessments.
The Advanced Apprenticeship will give apprentices the opportunity to gain an understanding in the management of play environments and the skills needed to line manage other staff.
This Apprenticeship route is a good stepping stone to levels 4 and 5 in Playwork or a Foundation Degree.
